L'il Babies/Oodles
L'il Babies were made using the moulds of 'Oodles' by LJN toys but with the loop removed. As such, each L'il Baby has an Oodles counterpart. Here I have divided the babies by their Oodle groups and their oodle numbers and names, as well as their UK L'il Babies name and their US L'il Babies name (a dash indicates the name did not change). L'il Babies are not numbered on the pamphlet but you will see numbering on some figures because (as stated above) they are created from Oodles and in some cases the numbers were not removed before the figure was cast as a L'il Baby.
L'il babies came blind bags containing 1 baby, a pamphlet and a scrap of fluoro coloured fabric tied around it as a piece of clothing. L'il Babies came in a staggering 24 different colours*:
*colours other than brown and skin pink may only have been available in Europe/UK.

This full list of colours was discovered on a French site for collectos of baby figures 'Collections de Babies'. The site also describes four other fluoro variants which are lighter than the usual release. Not including the variations, if you wanted to have a complete collection of L'il Babies you would need a grand total of 25 (colours) x 48 (poses) = 1200 figures!
L'il Babies are also known as Les Babies in France and Paciocchini in Italy. These figures were most popular (and therefore most widely available) from the UK and Europe (particularly France and Germany.)
Oodles were not blind bagged but came in blister packs with a collector card. They came in 4 skin tone colours - pale skin, cream skin, light brown skin and brown skin. I think the drawing on the collector card they came with was the same colour as the figure, making 4 versions of each card available. As well as having loops, oodles also differed from L'il Babies in that they are slightly larger and have a 'baby powder' scent.
For more on Oodles see the info on babyfacedolls.com or on the site of thei creator, Mel Birnkrant.
The very poor scans showing the figure poses were done by me from an original L'il Babies pamphlet. No copyright infringment is intended.
Hey! These aren't my babies! Got something similar - they might me magic diaper babies, magic nursery PVC's or mini babies.
